Where should I take my kids for summer vacation?

I live in Ottawa Canada, so would like something on east coast, willing to go to US, no more than 2 days drive or major city that would have cheap air fare. Like the idea of a beach (Ocean) vacation. Would like to go for 1 week, maybe 10 days. Looking to spend around 00 total. Any ideas? In the past we’ve gone to Sesame Place/Philadelphia/Atlantic City, Mt Tremblant, Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls

If you’re open minded, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware is an amazing family vacation spot. I have been most of my years, several of the past 9 of them with children, and never get enough. My family always rented a cottage when I was little, but that’s become expensive so your best option is a no-frills but comfortable and clean motel, or chain hotel like a Best Western. When not travelling I live in Bruce County so I have to go to Toronto, and the flight is not horrifically expensive if you book in advance and take connecting flights, or flights on less busy days. You can fly into Philly or Baltimore, maybe even D.C. and it’s just a short drive.

However, RB is not the place if you are offended by homosexuality. It is not a gay resort but because of the accepting nature of the community it has become a very popular gay/lesbian holiday spot. It is family oriented but open. If you are upset by this, your best bet is to go to smaller beaches in states like Virginia and the Carolinas.

If you’re looking for something a little closer to home, I highly recommend Bruce County! Summers are beautiful here and we have many low-key beach towns, as well as lots of outdoor fun to be had. It’s not the ocean but it’s just as good. Port Elgin has the most beautiful sunsets in north America and is a friendly town, mixed between full-time residents and holiday cottages that fill up when not buried in the snow. It’s about an 8 hour drive from Ottawa, 3 hours from Toronto.

Chicago. The Wisconsin Dells (lots of water parks). You live really far north but Orlando is like heaven for kids because of all the amusement parks.
Both you and your kids would have a great time in any of these locations.

I lived in NYC and everyone said Atlantic City is gross. That’s the only place I know out there that you mentioned. I would suggest Colorado because there are so many family outdoor things to do, but it’s far from you.

Bali, one of the cheapest, but also nicest, relaxing holiday you could have. The beaches and resorts are beautiful there.

Florida! If you don’t want to do Disney, there are many other things here. Beaches, Springs, etc.
