This is a message from Yardley Borough for residents in Rivermawr only:
The National Weather Service predicts the Delaware River to rise above 17 feet on Sunday morning. At this level, North Delaware Avenue becomes impassable. It is recommended that all residents relocate their SECONDARY vehicles west of the canal before retiring for the evening on Saturday. Parking is available in Buttonwood Park and it is patrolled regularly by the Yardley Police Department.
The Delaware River is expected to rise further later on Sunday, although just how much is not known at this time. Arrangements have been made to re-route school buses on Monday morning should it become necessary. Details will be provided if it is required.
While this message is not intended to alarm anyone, it is recommended that normal high water and wind precautions be taken.
Please also remember to turn your clocks ahead this evening and check your smoke and CO detector batteries.
