This is just awesome. It was very sweet Sesame Street, Queen Latifah and John Mayer to help families deal with the changes form the war.

The guy who was hopping down the hall on one foot is Maj. David Rozelle, the first amputee to return to active command in Iraq, and my old commander during the war. Words cannot describe what a great guy he is. A real pleasure to serve under.

It’s great that Sesame Street and folks like Queen Latifah and John Mayer are doing such wonderful things for our military and their families. Not only are Mayer and Latifah incredibly talented, but this shows they have a heart for children and for our military. Great job!!

However, this segment is niether pro or anti this war or militry involvement. It just highlights the reality that not everyone comes back without physical or mental harm and that care needs to be made to welcome people back, even into their own homes and families.

This is brave television which justifies the brave soldiers, brave familes and brave children it portrays.

Once again, Sesame Street proves that it is one of the most important programmes of the world. Well done on taking such a difficult topic and bridging the gap between the adult world and the world of the children.

I was a very vocal opponent of the Iraq War, and have been to court due to a number of direct actions trying to change British government involvement.

The soldier with both legs and an arm missing was injured in the same explosion as a young man I know; who is still recovering years later from a brain injury. This is not a political video or video about war. It is a video of compassion, understanding, hope and encouragement.

Whether it’s propaganda or not, i’m sure it has helped the children of some families cope because they know they’re not alone

I hope kids don’t see this and then join the military just to get cool terminator hands.

  21. dsmfishgal on Thu, 13th May 2010 5:04 pm

Why does this feel like propaganda? No offense to the military folks who’ve been injured, just odd how it’s presented in places.

Really so when we waterboarded Abu Zubaydah we didn’t prevent an attack? What about Khalid Sheik Mohammed which allowed us to prevent 9/11 style terrorists attacks in LA? There are more, a lot of them bombings. There are 2 examples right there. Go look them up if you do not believe me. Bush friends with Bin Laden, WTF. Keep your enemy close I guess. Destroyed families? They knew what they signed up for. There is no peace without war and no war without casualties. They do it for us not fame.
