On the Edges….

I’ve been going to the Outer Banks of North Carolina since 1990 and while it’s meant to be a vacation, I always make it a time to create as well. Each time I have a different experience and I come away with ideas for the next year. This year I had two types of imagery in mind, graphic daytime oceanscapes, and nighttime oceanscapes.

I’ve written about the night oceanscapes previously here. The daytime oceanscape that I have now begun to offer as a 14×20 print matted and framed to 22×28 is one I’ve titled Edges. It is an image I made just before sunrise looking out over the ocean. I composed to achieve an image that has strong edges: sand, sea and sky are all distinct. Each of the layers has a very different feeling, texture and reflectivity. I knew this was an image I would  want to print big and so I used a camera that offered me 21 megapixels and a sharp Canon 17-40mm L lens closed down to maximize depth. The image shines printed on Epson Exhibition Fiber paper.

People That Live In Chicago… Abortions at Stroger Hospital?

Ok im 19years old just found out im 4wks pregnant and i live in chicago… I wanted 2 no did it really cost 50 bucks at the county hospital and who 2 call… & plz keep all negative comments.. i no abortions r horrible but being 19 w/ no income and living off a school rebate check wont cut it so plz keep them 2 your self BUT HELP

nervous about beaches turks and caicos!?

my mom, stepdad, and i (14) are planning a vacation and we are interested in the beaches turks and caico’s but, we are nervous that elmo will be walking around everywhere. we saw in pictures and in the description that they have like a sesame day camp. we don’t want this to be like a disney cruise where the characters walk up to you. we also don’t want 3 and 4 year olds running around everywhere. and also we are not sure if this place is nice. in the pictures and descriptions it looks and sounds great but some people say it was terrible! ugh! helpp me decide!

Looking for a recipe for Beef Stew with Onions, Mushrooms, Capers and Cheddar Biscuit Topping from The Daily I?

the recipe was in the Daily Intelligencer, Bucks County, PA about 1987 or 1988. I made it several times, but cannot find the recipe. When the recipe was doubled, etc., it was a wonderful casserole for a large gathering.
